TIPS FOR LISTENING TO FRENCH
When you're listening, try to use words to help you find your way through. Don't be put off by things you don't know. Try to understand the gist of what you hear.

- Use TIME MARKERS to help you, eg.:
aujourd'hui - today
hier - yesterday
demain - tomorrow
après-demain - the day after tomorrow
avant-hier - the day before yesterday
il y a deux semaines - two weeks ago
l'année prochaine - next year

- Listen out for these:
sans - without
sauf - except
ne...que - only
ne...pas - not
mais - but
ne...jamais - never

- Don't confuse on and ont (use the context to help you).

- Use context to help avoid False Friends! eg. un tour - a walk/a trip or a tower!

- Listen to as much French as possible - there are loads of resources online, links to many can be found on this blog!
